Creating a new world
The Campaing Editor lets you create worlds. Each world is a combination of one or more maps (up to 18 in width and 18 in height). Each map is made of hexagons. To create a new world select the "World" menu item and click on "New". At this point you can specify the name of your world, its dimensions and a description. Clicking on the "OK" button leads you to the map creation window. Here you should see the world you just created. Clicking on the various maps it is made of you can preview which one you would like to modify. You can also see the name of the map you selected. You can modify this name later if you want. The first time you create and edit a world, all of the maps are black.
Select the map you would like to modify and press the "OK" button. At this point, control returns to the main program and you can see a toolbar on the left and your map on the right.

Editing the world maps
You can use the toolbar to modifiy each hexagon on the map with the terrain type you prefer. For each terrain type there are many features like rivers, roads, cities, and so on. You can select the "World" menu item and the "Map legend" command to bring up a screen illustrating all the various terrain features you can use. Once you have selected a terrain type on the toolbar, you can add it's name (like for i.e. "Swamp of Rats") in the text box. This string is used as a label for the terrain and later to generate a description and a random encounter table for it. Now click on any hexagon on the map. A yellow text label ("Drawing") shows, indicating you are in drawing mode. You don't need to click on each icon you want to modify, just move your mouse around and it will act as a brush. To exit from drawing mode just click again or move the mouse pointer out of the map. As you can see, when you draw, the terrain type changes accordingly with the one you have selected. Also, notice that the terrain label on the map changes too. Once you have written a terrain label it the text box, it will always be used until you change it or change terrain type.

Saving, closing, loading and deleting a world or map
To save a map, select the "World" menu item and the "Save" command. You can also save your map by closing it with the "Close" command in that same menu. This command closes the current map and asks if you want to save. While editing, you can navigate from one map to another using the arrow buttons on the right of the screen. The current map you are working on will be saved before switching to the next one. You can also load another map from the same world or from a different one. Select the "Load" command in the "World" menu. As when you first created a world, you can see the same form listing all the available worlds you can load and their description. Just select one and press the "OK" button. Again you are brought to another form you are familiar with, the one you can preview all of the world's maps and finally select one.
Finally to delete a world choose the "Delete" command. Warning, deleting a world while erase everything: world maps, descriptions, timetables, random encounters, locations, etc. Use this command only when you are totally sure you want to get rid of a world.

Altering the world's description, map name and terrain name and description
To view or modify the world description, choose the "World description" command in the "World" menu item. To change the name of the map, choose instead the "Change map name" command in that same menu. The "Change terrain name" lets you change the label of a terrain into another. This is very useful, for instance, if you create many tiles called Sea, and later decide to call them Sea of Madness. You can also change the name of one hexagon of terrain by right clicking on it and choosing the "Change terrain name" command form the pop-up manu. Finally you can add a description to the terrain selecting the command "Terrain description". This also saves your map. A new form comes up where you can see listed all the terrain labels (if any) that you have assigned to your terrain type. Here you can manage the description for each terrain. This is very useful because when you will use the Game Manager and a party of characters is moving in the wilderness, the program will automatically bring up the description of the places they visit without requiring the game master to go read it from his notes.

Adding a world timetable
Events occur around the world. The players live their lives while things happen around them. RPG Manager provides tools to manage world timetables. Let's assume that has a game master you have decided something to happen in your world at a certain date. You can add this event to the world timetable. When playing a game session in the Game Manager, whenever the game date is equal to that of the defined event, a box will show up describing the event. In this way game masters do not need to constantly check dates to see if something happens.
To edit world timetables, use the "World timetables" command in the "World" menu item. A form is displayed where you can add the date of the event and its description. From here you can also manage existing events, modifying or deleting them. To easily change the day, month or year right click on the desired text box.

Adding random encounters
You can populate your world with random encounters. Be sure to have at least one creature in your database before doing this, then select the "Encounter tables" command from the "World" menu item. This operation requires you to save your map. A new form is displayed where you can see listed all the terrain types used in your map. There is also a list of creatures on the right and a table in the middle where you can drag and drop creatures. This is pretty straightforward: select a terrain type and click on the "Modify" button to enable the encounter table for that terrain. Then using drag and drop operations start moving some creatures into the slots. A brief description, along with the creature's image (if any) is displayed when you click on a creature's name. When you're done, save the table.
In the Game Manager there is a button that enables the generation of random encounters if you have random encounter tables in your map.

Managing weather tables
You can add different weather tables for each type of terrain in your map. Just select the "Weather tables" command in the "World" menu item. Your current map will be saved and you will be brought to a new form, where for each kind of terrain and for each season of the year, you can assign a maximum of 10 different weather states (sun, clouds, partly cloudy, rain, thunderstorm, snow, blizzard, desert storm and artic storm). Once you have done this save your work, then in the Game Manager at each hexagon movement, if the program finds the appropriate weather table for that terrain, it will randomize one weather state from the ones you choosed, depending on the time of the year.

Managing location maps and descriptions
Each hexagon of terrain represents a location. Some locations are in the wilderness and do not usually need further detail. Some locations are cities, dungeons or other places which might need their own map and description. To add a map to a location be sure that first of all the chosen terrain hexagon has a name assigned to it. Then, right click on the terrain hexagon and select the command "Add location map" from the pop-up menu. 
This brings you to a new form where you can add a maximum of 25 maps to the location, each one having it's own description. As of now, the maps to add cannot be generated with RPG Manager but must be created by some other means. Choose the first free slot by clicking on it and select the "Load location image" button. You can now browse your hardisk for the location map you want to add. Once you've done this you can click on the "View & modify location" to see the map in it's full size and to add a description to it. In the Game Manager, when you reach a location with a map, you will then be able to enter it.

Printing a map
To print a map, select the "Print" command from the "World" menu item.
